Level 3 First Aid at Work
The Level 3 First Aid at Work course is a comprehensive qualification that provides essential first aid and CPR skills for the workplace. It prepares staff to respond confidently to a wide range of injuries and medical emergencies, helping employers meet Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
This course is recognised across all industries and is suitable for staff in higher risk settings or where a full first aid provision is required. It is endorsed by CIMSPA and follows the standards set by the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (FAAOF).

Entry Requirements

Learners must be at least 16 years old on the day of assessment

Course Content
Learners will be trained in how to:

Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aid provider

Assess incidents and manage unresponsive casualties

Perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator

Assist a person who is choking or in shock

Treat external bleeding, burns and minor injuries
-
Respond to injuries to bones, joints, eyes, chest and the head

Provide care for major illnesses, anaphylaxis and poisoning

Conduct a secondary survey
Assessment
Assessment is carried out by the trainer during the course. Learners must demonstrate safe and effective first aid techniques and complete all required outcomes to achieve the qualification.
Renewal
The certificate is valid for 3 years. To renew, learners must complete a 12 hour requalification course. This can be delivered over 2 days and must cover all assessment criteria from the original qualification.
