Context
A dual-skilled (speaking & listening) exam in English, for the B1 level of the CEFR*. This is for individuals who are applying to Transport for London (TfL) to become a licensed London private hire driver, or for existing licensed London private hire drivers who are required to meet the English language requirement. Exams are delivered by TfL.
About the exam:
- Exam format is a short online interview with a live interlocutor
- Duration is 11-13 minutes
- Each candidate is examined individually
- Exam content authentically replicates practical English in use.
Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), developed by the Council of Europe, is widely used to describe levels of language proficiency.
