How the qualification works

The qualification consists of one externally assessed paper divided into two parts:

  • Section A: Non calculator

  • Section B: Calculator

Online and remote assessment options

You can complete this qualification online, either at a registered training centre or from home. Remote invigilation (also known as remote proctoring) allows you to sit the assessment from home while being observed via video and audio links. This gives you the flexibility to complete your qualification in a way that suits your schedule.

Remote assessment is available for all NCFE Functional Skills at Level 1 and Level 2.
